The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the Standing Committee of
Parliamentary Affairs in the National Assembly have reportedly agreed upon the impracticality of holding local bodies polls in January.
According to reports, the local bodies election will probably be delayed after several combined efforts of the Supreme Court and ECP, despite criticism of the provincial governments.
Standing Committee of Parliamentary Affairs Head Abdul Manan reviewed the arrangements of LB election in the Punjab and Sindh provinces on January and agreed along with ECP for delaying the electoral event due to unavoidable circumstances.
