Earthquake tremors jolt Peshawar, adjacent areas

An earthquake of moderate intensity jolted Peshawar and its adjacent areas on Tuesday.
The earthquake of magnitude 4.8 on the Richter scale was felt with its epicenter 28 kilometres north of Murghob in Tajikistan, reported the US Geological Survey.
People rushed out of their homes and offices in panic as the earthquake tremors struck.
Earlier, an earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale with its epicentre 137 kilometres north-west of Karachi was felt on Monday (December 23) evening.
Prior to that, an earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale hit parts of upper Sindh and Balochistan on Friday, December 20.
