Such was a time when the IPPs were inducted to overcome power shortage, not realising that they could best be for the short term due to total reliance on imported oil whose price was not in our control.
The tide that was missed was a project for the long term, relying on our own water resources, which would have saved us from the shallows and miseries being faced today in terms of load shedding and food shortage.
People have short memories, they tend to forget who it was who missed the tide, and are gunning for those who even today want to reverse the tide but are not allowed to do so.
