The Islamabad High Court has summoned owners of CNG stations to appear on December 26 in connection with the review petition filed by the government, challenging restoration of previous gas supply schedule.
Justice Noorul Haq Qureshi took up the petition filed by the Ministry of Petroleum.
During the proceedings, federation’s lawyer Khawaja Farooq argued that the country was faced with gas shortage in winter season, and restoring gas supply to CNG stations would badly hurt domestic consumers, praying the court to dismiss relevant stay order.
On this occasion, Justice Noorul Haq Qureshi remarked that the court couldn’t dismiss its stay order, and summoned owners of CNG stations on December 26 to hear their opinion.
Government can open CNG stations from 12 to 04 pm and also from 10 pm to 04 am for the whole day. In this way, there will be no shortage of gas.
