In an unusual statement, Leader of the Opposition Syed Khurshid Shah, who is traditionally supposed to criticise government policies, has said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) hue and cry over inflation gives an impression as if Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government is providing food commodities free of cost.
Talking to media persons on Monday, the opposition leader criticised PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s rally against surge in inflation. He questioned if tomatoes were sold for Rs 2/kg, flour Rs 5/kg and ghee was provided free with other commodities in KP.
Responding to a question regarding the PTI’s announcement of protest against inflation in Sindh as well, he said Imran Khan should concentrate over mending situation in his party-led province instead of poking nose in issues of other provinces.
The opposition leader said if KP government succeeds in making its province a role-model, only then will it be justified to ask others to follow suit.
