Smugglers on Islamabad Motorway attacked custom authorities and abducted a deputy superintendent and his assistant. Later, they released the aide but the superintendent is still reported to be in their captivity.
According to sources, the Islamabad Motorway Police busted a smuggling attempt and to avenge their failure the smugglers kidnapped the deputy superintendent and fled the scene.
FILIPINO WOMAN SMUGGLER NABBED: The custom officials on Saturday foiled a smuggling bid at the airport, arresting a foreigner and seizing 2.5 kilogrammes of heroin.
Sources said that during the search of baggage of a Philippine national identified as Buttey Marlena Foulenty, heroin packed in small sachets, weighing 2.5kg hidden in the secret chambers of the bag was recovered.
Custom officials said that the detained woman belonged to Philippines and she arrived in Pakistan through private airline via Dubai.
The Anti Narcotics Forces (ANF) seized the recovered drug, arrested the accused and shifted her to an undisclosed location for further investigation.
COP ARRESTED FOR STEALING WIRELESS SET: The capital police on Saturday arrested the wireless operator of Islamabad SSP for stealing a wireless set. A case was also registered against him in Kohsar Police Station. According to police sources, the accused was working as wireless operator at the residence of Islamabad SSP. He stole the wireless set and kept using it for criminal purposes.
