Deceased leader of Awami National Party (ANP) Bashir Bilour’s first death anniversary is being observed today. He was also a cabinet minister in the provincial government.
Bilour was martyred in a suicide bombing attack in Qissa Khwani market Peshawar on December 22 last year.
His death was a major blow to the ANP-led government, whose leaders and workers have been a prime target of extremist elements in the province.
Bilour had been a major voice against the militancy in the province from his secular party ANP whose another member Mian Iftikhar Hussain had lost a son in an attack by Taliban.
Bilour had also been awarded a Hilal-e-Shujaat in year 2011.
