Why you not do something about price hike?

Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President Senator Chaudhary Shujat Hussain and senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhary Parvez Elahi have said that the government was not paying any attention to basic issues faced by the people.

Both the leaders said this while addressing the meeting of the PML Punjab Parliamentary Party on Saturday. The meeting was attended by MPAs Aamir Sultan Cheema, Ahmad Shah Khagga, Dr Muhammad Afzal, Sardar Asif Nakai, Sardar Vickas Hassan Mokal, Baasima Chaudhary and Jayeda Khalid, provincial general secretary Chaudhary Zaheeruddin Khan, senior vice-president Muhammad Basharat Raja and additional general secretary Nasir Mahmood Gill among others.

The meeting expressed its concern that matters of public importance were being ignored while people were committing suicides along with their children owing to hunger and price hike of essential commodities. It said that more and more people were being killed daily due to lawlessness but price hike, law and order and other matters concerning the people were intentionally not being brought on the agenda of the assembly so that these could be appropriately debated.

Parliamentary party also expressed concern over what they said an inappropriate attitude of the government towards the opposition members and opined that the opposition was also being ignored in the development fund.

The meeting noted that development works had not been started intentionally in the constituencies of the PML parliamentarians. The meeting termed this attitude as amounting to enmity with the people of these constituencies and said this has also proved that the govt was not honouring democratic and parliamentary principles, values and traditions.
