National Assembly Opposition Leader and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MNA Syed Khursheed Shah said on Saturday that the issue of Kishanganga Dam is a matter of life and death for Pakistan.

Talking to media on Saturday, he said General Ayub had handed over the river to India at a time when country’s population stood at only 30 million, and by that time he had no idea that the country’s population would rise to 200 million.

Shah hailed the judgment of the International Court of Arbitration on Kishanganga Dam.

Replying to a question, Khursheed Shah said drone strikes were against the country’s sovereignty, adding that the foreign office should strengthen its case in the international community on this matter.

He further said that the peace talks with the Taliban should be given a chance; failing would eventually lead to an action against militants.

On answering a question, he said that the PPP does not demand mid-term polls in the country.
