ET suspends victory of PTI in PK-81

Peshawar Election Tribunal (ET) while suspending the victory of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Azizullah Giran in PK-81 constituency has announced to re-conduct the polls in 22 polling stations.
Suspended MPA Azizullah Giran has announced to challenge the decision in Supreme Court (SC), while workers of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) and Awami National Party (ANP) have expressed joy over the decision.
Details said Azizullah Giran of the PTI was declared the winning candidate with 13,045 votes from PK-81 (Swat) General Elections in May. In this constituency, Habib Ali Shah of the JUI-F stood second with 11,635 votes, while Sher Shah Khan of the ANP had secured third position.
Afterwards, the JUI-F’ Habib Ali Shah challenged the victory of PTI’s candidate in Peshawar ET alleging rigging in some polling stations.
On Friday, while deciding the petition of the JUI-F’s candidate, the ET announced repolling in 22 polling stations of the constituency.
