Riyalto Chowk crossing to be reopened

The district administration has decided to reopen Riyalto Chowk Crossing in response to the complaints of the residents of the garrison city.

The administration is also mulling over shifting all goods transport terminals out of the city due to increasing traffic pressure on the roads.

The problems pertaining to gridlocks on city roads and encroachments in markets are worsening in Rawalpindi and the administration has failed to control them. Murree Road and IJ Principal Road, main artery of garrison city, are the most affected by the heavy traffic and encroachments. The administration and police seem helpless in the prevailing situation.
