The Motorway Police on Wednesday foiled a possible terrorist plot after it seized a stockpile of arms and ammunition being transported from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Punjab, a spokeman said.
According to him, the police officials intercepted a suspicious vehicle near Burhan interchange on M-1.
After searching of the vehicle an array of arms and ammunition were discovered, including kalashnikov rifles, sniper guns, light machine guns, SMGs, pistols, rifles, and thousands of bullets.
Police also apprehended the culprits Ameenur Rehman and Muhammad Asim. The suspects were shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
Officials said this was a swift action against terrorists to save Lahore.
