Senator Chaudary Shujaat Hussain revealed that the former president Gen (R) Pervez Musharraf took all the stakeholders on board before imposing an emergency on 3 November 2007.

Hussain was talking to a private news channel on Monday.

“Those who claim that the former president had not held a prior consultation are lying,” he said.

His party was in power in the federal capital when the 3 November 2007 emergency was declared by the former president.

Hussain also commented that the Prime minister should have consulted with his cabinet and should have reviewed the constitutional provisions in detail before making the decision of putting Musharraf to trial.

  1. Thank god somebody has stepped forward with the facts. No PM or a President can be an island. To charge Musharraf is like opening a pandora's box. He has the same friends(saudi arabia) as the PM. The latter chose to go into nobel exile–how about offering the same to the old man without an expensive never ending court process.

  2. Its in the blood of Pakistani nation to change loyalties with changing times. Fourteen years ago they couldn't be happier that Musharraf took over. Even a blind person can see that Musharraf's trial is nothing but revenge. There is no fairness in this trial. If anything, he should be tried for the 1999 coup. It will never happen because it will expose too many other people to treason charges as well. This is selective justice.

  3. I think that chaudahry sahib will disown the statement very shortly as this is usual behavior of our politician.

  4. Appreciable statement by Mr.Shujaat,Thanks for God someone tries to open their sealed lips on this issue. But how Mr.Shujaat is clever when felt all the witnesses are again Musharraf, he wants to wash his bloody hands in the water of Ganges’s all these politicians who favored Musharraf have to face punishments and do not show innocence. They will have to suffer and during Musharraf`s regime, all these politicians who supported Musharraf have to face.

  6. It is a fact that Chaudhry family are liars and wanted yo prove their bloody involments. But Inn shah Allah all those who supported Musharraf will be punished and blacklisted.CHAUDRY FAMILY SAZA SE TUM SAB CHORE AUR MUJRIM BACH NA SAKO GAI.

  7. So everyone including Chaudhry Shujat and even Musharraf's lawyer Ahmed Raza Kasuri have confessed that what Musharraf did was a crime and invokes punishment under article-6!
Who else was or wasn't is another matter but the consensus is on the dictator Musharraf.

  8. Let the facts speak for themselves. Three Prime Ministers served under Musharraf. Two of them are in Pakistan. One has been speaking the truth what about the other?. It appears to be a classical phenomena. When the ship is sinking the captain stays aboard while others jump off. Thank you Mr Shujat for speaking up for your boss.

  9. The coup of 1999 is moré serious than 2007, yet those who legalised it, has been given immunity vide 17th amendment…..what a justice ? what a country ?

  10. Mr. Shujaar statement further validates and confirms that high treason was committed by Musharraf. Taking everyone on board does not mean that he was innocent. We cannot say about others with certainty however Shujaat by this very statement, prima facie appears to be complicit with Musharraf and should also be booked!
