ICC’s Performance of the Year award goes to Umar Gul

Pakistan’s right arm fast medium bowler Umer Gul has bagged the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) T20I Performance of the Year award.

The ICC press releases cited that Gul’s performance in a match against South Africa this year in which he took five wickets while only conceding six runs earned him this award.

However, the ceremony will be held on Saturday

The International Cricket Council (ICC) in a press release on Friday has announced awards for the year 2013, in which the Australian captain Michael Clarke is declared as the winner of the Sir Garfield Sobers trophy for ICC Cricketer of the Year and was also named as the ICC Test Cricketer of the Year.
Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara was named ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year, and India’s Cheteshwar Pujara being named the ICC Emerging Cricketer of the Year.

ICC’s President Alan Isaac said I would like to congratulate all of the winners announced today.

It’s been a fantastic year of cricket and I think a special congratulation is needed for Michael Clarke, who claimed two awards this evening, he added.

  1. On what basis Clark of Australia and Sangakara from SL have been picked? This ICC should be renamed NCC,No See See.
