Chief Justice of Pakistan’s secretary Abdul Hameed was transferred on Friday.
He was made the Human Rights Cell’s deputy director. Hameed was also the staff officer of former chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry. He is blamed for giving exclusive video coverage of a full-court reference in honour of Chaudhry to one TV channel.
Footage controversy
After assuming charge as the top judge on December 12, Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani had taken suo motu notice in this regard. The notice came a day after he had questioned the suo motu jurisdiction in his speech at the full court reference.
The additional registrar of the court will be heading the inquiry into the matter.
