Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas rejected the US proposal for Israel to deploy troops in the future Palestinian state along the border with Jordan, according to a Palestinian state on Friday.
Abbas met with the US Secretary of State John Kerry on Thursday in the West Bank city of Ramallah where he denounced the ideas presented by Kerry on the grounds of not involving a ‘third party’ along the Palestinian-Jordanian border.
Abbas also gave the US Secretary of State a letter that refused to recognise Israel as a Jewish state.
Israeli and Arab media reports say the plan proposed by Washington seeks for Israel maintaining a military presence on the border after reaching on an agreement with Palestine.
