Blast near Kabul NATO HQs ‘accidental’

The explosion in Kabul near the NATO-led ISAF Headquarters on Thursday was an accident at the arms depot according to the Afghan officials.

Police chief of Kabul stated that a rocket was accidentally detonated in the Afghan National Directorate of Security but caused no harm.

Earlier on Thursday, NATO’s International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) headquarters in Kabul were rocked by an explosion outside of the HQs

ISAF’s twitter account confirmed the explosion with no reports of casualties.

The blast triggered emergency sirens in the nearby US embassy.

On Wednesday, a suicide bomber blew up himself in a failed attack on an ISAF convoy near the Kabul airport.
