Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Kamran Murtaza on Wednesday dismissed SCBA vice president Rana Naeem and sought explanation over hosting a farewell dinner to honour outgoing Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry.
Naeem was asked to explain about the money he spent for the farewell as he has not enough resources to arrange such dinner.
The SCBA vice president was informed that he violated the law that was why he was suspended.
Earlier, the SCBA had decided that a farewell would not be given to the CJ in reaction against violence on lawyers.
