The Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered appointment of a new FC inspector general (IG) in Balochistan.
The Supreme Court was hearing a contempt of court notice against FC IG Major General Ijaz Shahid for not appearing before the court in a missing persons’ case.
During the proceedings, the acting FC IG Brigadier Khalid Naseem appeared before the court in a casual dress. The court asked him about the attire and said that his body language shows he would not obey.
The court detached the IG’s contempt notice from the missing persons’ case in Balochistan, saying that proceedings would be launched against the IG at an appropriate time.
In the court order, the SC held the IG responsible for presenting the missing persons. It said all the people should be presented before the CID deputy inspector general. It said the court order should be implemented.
The court ordered the interior secretary to issue notification over the appointment of new or acting IG FC within three days.
The court also lamented that no progress was made in this case. The chief justice ordered the government to clearly state by when they could produce the missing persons. The court also ordered the authorities to direct the new IG for compliance of the court orders.
The FC IG was issued the contempt of court notice for not appearing before the court in Balochistan missing persons’ case.

  1. Likewise it is very interesting that some cases acquired great hype only to be forgotten afterwards. There was also unique example when SC registrar was asked to keep public funds and invest them. As if he was a super investor.
