Privatisation of national institutions? Are you kidding me?

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Ameer Syed Munawar Hassan has said that privatisation of national institutions would snatch away livelihood from 0.6 million families, further adding to poverty and unemployment.

The JI ameer was addressing a seminar organised by JI against the privatisation of national institutions on Wednesday. The seminar was attended by leaders of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and other political parties.

Hassan alleged that the government has following the agenda of International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank (WB) to destabilise the country’s economy. He termed the privatisation of national institutions as paving way for introducing capitalism and secular system in the country. He said that any attempt to deprive the poor masses of source of livelihood will be opposed from all platforms. He warned that privatisation will also result in poverty which could cause surge in crimes and extremism which were already disturbing the national stability and sovereignty.
