Pak keen to expand cooperation in all sectors: PM

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said Pakistan is keen to expand cooperation especially in trade‚ investment‚ energy‚ infrastructure‚ agriculture and human resource development with all its friends the world over.

While addressing a luncheon hosted in the honour of ambassadors of several countries in Islamabad on Wednesday‚ he said there was urgent need to convert mutual goodwill into mutually beneficial partnerships.

Referring to the regional political situation‚ the prime minister said Pakistan was engaged‚ and remained committed to supporting a peaceful and smooth transition in Afghanistan.

Nawaz Sharif said the government was determined in getting rid of terrorism and extremism. This menace is complex in nature and is rooted in the events of the last three decades‚ having global‚ regional and local dimensions.

He said national consensus was being evolved through various forums including the All Parties Conference and the parliamentary resolutions to bring an end to extremism in the country.

The prime minister said his government was portraying the correct picture of Pakistan at the international level.
