Punjab Chief Minister Health Advisor Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that Directorate General Health Services will be further empowered under the policy of devolution of power to district level.
Speaking as a chief guest at the inaugural session of a four-day training workshop on Vaccine Logistics Management Information System (VLMIS) for master trainers organized by USAID at a local hotel, he said the policy of devolution was being finalized and would be introduced after approval by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sahrif.
Doctors from Punjab, KP, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan attended the training workshop.
Rafique said that administrative reforms, according to the vision of chief minister, would be introduced in Health Department during 2014. He said that targets of routine immunization, under EPI, and reduction of mortality rate of mother and child under MNCH Programme would be focused upon to achieve MDGs in 2014.
