- Tarin terms May 11 elections a fraud, says PML-N took pleasure in ‘fake mandate’
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Jehangir Tarin has alleged that the present Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) government enjoyed a fake mandate of the people and could not solve people’s problems.
Tarin was addressing a reception hosted in his honour by party leader from South Punjab Noor Khan Bhabha. Several party leaders spoke on this occasion and acknowledged the leadership qualities of Tarin. They also praised PTI Chairman Imran khan for his selection.
Generally, the workers gathered at the ceremony were happy the way Tarin handled the party after becoming its secretary general.
Addressing on this occasion, Tarin said May 11 elections were a ‘fraud’ committed against the country. “It was selection and not election. The scrutiny in various constituencies has made this more than evident,” he said.
Tarin alleged that present government has singularly failed to come up to the expectations of people. “The government has neither courage nor imagination to take important decisions. Only the government with genuine mandate could fix the public issues, not the one enjoying a fake mandate as is the case of PML-N,” he maintained.
He said that the government could not avoid now the scrutiny of votes casted in some 40 or more constituencies. “Once the investigation is complete, we will announce our future line of action. Already the panic button is on as far as government is concerned,” Tarin cautioned.
He said it was a defining moment in the history of the country and only those political forces could succeed that had an ideology. He was of the view that in coming days the organisational skills of all PTI leaders would be tested. He called upon the party workers to get ready for the upcoming local bodies’ polls in the country.
