The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued the order to the PM Nawaz Sharif, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engineer Shaukatullah and Chief Minister Pervez Khattak to recover missing persons within a week.
SC also ruled that legislation should be carried out in order to prevent forced disappearances, according to local news channel reports.
During the missing persons’ case hearing today, the court observed that its order to recover the missing persons was not being followed.
While expressing displeasure over the failure of recovery of missing persons before the court, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry commented that no law enforcing agency has the authority to illegally detain the citizen.
The acting Defence Secretary Maj Gen (R) Raja Arif Nazir replied that missing persons face serious life threats due to which their appearance is court is being prevented.
The court said that it was unacceptable that missing persons have not been produced before it even today.
Humble request to both rulers and Armed forces of Pakistan! Establish rule of law no matter what it costs. No doubt we need to frame very hard and effective as well as speedy justice. It's hard time for the armed forces because they lost their soldiers but remember that we have Army to offer their lives for the country. Rule of law is the only way to gain respect and even Islam asserts a importance for a speedy and fair justice.

I think CJ should give final verdict. Last 3 years we are listening him saying come what may, we will deliver an order but lingring on and on. For minor crimes courts never show this much of patience, immediate verdict and thats it. No result at all including letter to Swiss Courts, OGRA, Missing persons etc etc.
