The city police chief Shahid Hayat Monday said that the political parties cooperating with the law enforcement agencies should hand over the wanted in their ranks, but so far it has not happened, he complained.
Responding to questions, Shahid Hayat said the Karachi police during the operation received support from the government, political parties and other organisations, however the political parties are not handing over the wanted accused in their ranks.
When questioned about Karachi citizens still complaining about insecurity, the city police chief said that the operation has given desired results, however the situation was not 100 percent rectified and the matter was being looked into from different angles.
As regards CID staff found involved in different crimes, Shahid Hayat said the policemen involved in crimes have been arrested, adding that action against the CID staff did not fall within his jurisdiction, as Sindh IG was the competent authority in this regard.
