Pakistan seeks discounted gas tariff from Iran

High-ranking officials of Pakistan and Iran are due to meet today (Monday) to deliberate over factors regarding finalisation of Pak-Iran gas pipeline seeking more discounted tariff.

Pakistan will be deliberating with Iran over finalisation of the billions of dollars project which will includes lowering of tariff and possibility of extension in deadline for completing Pakistan’s part of the pipeline.

Iran has already completed its part of 900 kilometers of pipeline, and is waiting for Pakistan to complete its part of 700 kilometers pipeline.

The Iranian media is touting the project as a source of major relief for Pakistani masses’ need of gas energy. Pakistan is stressing for more discount in tariff following India’s exit from the project.
