Outgoing Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry will preside over last meeting of the National Judicial Policy Making Committee (NJPMC) of his tenure on Tuesday (December 10).
The meeting to be held at the Supreme Court, will be attended by Justice Agha Rafiq Ahmed Khan, chief justice Federal Shariat Court, High Court of Balochistan Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, High Court of Sindh Chief Justice Maqbool Baqar, , Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Dost Muhammad Khan and, Lahore High Court Justice Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial as members of its committee.
NJAC Chairman Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja, Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Anwar Khan Kasi, Supreme Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chief Justice Muhammad Azam Khan, Justice Rana Muhammad Arshad Khan, Justice Ghulam Mustafa Mughal, High Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chief Justice Sahib Khan will also attend the meeting on special invitation.
The meeting will review reports regarding timely submission of challan and action taken against delinquent investigation officers, status of cases under Section 489-F of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) relating to dishonour of cheques, strategy to expedite the process of filling of vacant posts of judicial officers, rationalising Judge-case ratio in the district judiciary.
The meeting will also review implementation status of allocation of funds to the district judiciary all over the country including Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan and status of installation of Unified Integrated Automation System for Superior Courts.
