The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Islamabad Chapter and the US Embassy organised the awards ceremony of the Pakistan StartUp Cup2013 at Marriot Islamabad Hotel, an intensive four-month business competition for aspiring entrepreneurs.
“We believe Pakistan’s future prosperity will be determined by the success of innovative and fast-growing companies. When entrepreneurs here in Pakistan succeed, they create economic opportunity not only for Pakistanis, but for people all over the world, including the United States,” said Ambassador Olson in his key-note address.
Over a period of four months, selected participants received coaching through “Build-a-Business” workshops and mentoring to help turn their ideas into a commercial reality. The competition that kick started in July 2013, has seen more than 400 startups participating and getting coaching from seasoned mentors. The objective of the closing ceremony of the competition was to reward the winners, celebrate the true spirit of entrepreneurship and glorify the entrepreneurs. The prize money of PKR 1,000,000; 750,000 and 500,000 was distributed among the winner and the 2 runner ups.
Go-Fig Solutions was declared as winner, IdeaCentricity as 1st runner up and Bio-Tech as 2nd runner up.
