Five gunned down, several injured in unabated violence

At least five persons including two real brothers were killed and several others injured in renewed violent incidents in different localities of Karachi on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the law enforcement agencies have arrested several accused and recovered arms and drugs from their possession.

Police spokesperson said that unidentified motorcyclists opened fire at a hotel near Maskan Chourangi in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area, leaving three persons injured and sped away from the scene.

The injured including two real brothers Kashif Ahmed, Talib Ahmed and their cousin hailing from Multan were rushed to the hospital but they succumbed to their wounds.

The Ahle Sunnat Waljammat (ASWJ) spokesman claimed the deceased were members of their party.

SP Muqadas Raza said that 12 shells of 9MM pistol were recovered from the site of the firing.

In Baldia Town Sajan Goth area, unknown miscreants gunned down one person.

In yet another incident, a robber was killed in exchange of fire with police in Azizabad area of the city. The police recovered arms and stolen motorcycle from the possession of dacoit.

Whereas, two security guards of a private company identified as Abbas and Liaquat deployed at the gate of a private apartment in Johr Morr Hill Stop were critically injured in firing by unknown miscreants.

More than 10 persons including a woman were reported injured in separate firing incidents in different areas of the city.

Meanwhile, a police party was attacked near Lyari Expressway but all remained unhurt while the attackers took to heels after the retaliatory action of security personnel.

The Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) and Anti Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) during joint action in Landhi Manzal Pump area recovered an abducted trader but the kidnappers managed to escape.
