LB polls: electioneering ends in Balochistan, polling today

The election campaign for the local bodies’ elections ended in Balochistan on Friday and the polling will take place on Saturday.

All arrangements have been completed.

There are 3.2 million registered voters who will cast their votes for 4,350 seats while the by-polls will be held on 503 vacant seats after December 7.

Six million ballot papers have been printed for the purpose.

The PML-N, the PPP, the National Party, the BNP, the BNP-A, the ANP, the JUI-F, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, the Hazara Democratic Party and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement have fielded their candidates.

Several parties have also formed all parties’ democratic alliance. The Jamhoori Watan Party and Haq Na Tawar parties will boycott the by-polls.

Fifty-four thousand 446 security personnel including FC and Balochistan Constabulary have been deployed for security during the polling while the army would remain alert as a quick response force.
