Eighty two shopkeepers were challaned and fined of Rs 68,200 on Wednesday for overcharging purchasers of vegetables, fruit, milk, grocery and other food items in Karachi.
Karachi commissioner office sources while sharing details of the exercise said, these retailers belonged to different localities of the city including Gulberg, North Nazimabad, SITE Area, Airport and Korangi respectively.
They said the campaign initiated as per directives of the Karachi commissioner Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui and would reportedly continue till the menace of profiteering is not weeded out.
