23 get dengue, two die

Despite the tall claims of Punjab government, outspread of deadly dengue virus continues as 23 new cases were reported in the province while two of the patients died of this infection on Friday.

Provincial health sources said that 23 dengue patients were admitted to various hospitals in different districts of Punjab taking the total number of patients to 2,514.

Of the new reported cases, 21 patients belong to Lahore while one each to Rawalpindi and Gujranwala districts.

Dreadful dengue has mostly affected the provincial capital and Rawalpindi. The citizens seem terrified over the prevailing situation and they have demanded of the provincial government for seeking help of international health experts to bring the dengue under control.

Meanwhile, a woman, Umat-al-Khatoon, 70, died in Shalimar Hospital due to dengue. Another woman, Sawar Sultana, 60, resident of Iqbal town passed away in Sheikh Zahid Hospital. Reports said that Sawar Sultana had also the symptoms of Congo Virus, however, she kicked the bucket before the final reports were received, said the hospital management.
