Gen Mahmood calls on Nawaz

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Rashad Mahmood on Thursday called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, a private TV channel reported.
The meeting was held at the PM’s House where the two discussed issues of national security as well as matters relating to the functioning and performance of the military.
Nawaz also met Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Asif Sandila to discuss the matters related to Naval forces’ functioning.
Moreover, the CJCSC also visited the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Headquarters. A contingent of the PAF presented guard of honour to him.
Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt briefed General Mahmood on affairs pertaining to the air force.
Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif called a Corps Commander Conference on Friday (today). The conference will be attended by the corps commanders and the principal staff officers to discuss the persisting internal and external security threats to the country.
Separately, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq met Nawaz and spoke about the legislation to take place in the parliament’s session which is to begin today.
