Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan said on Tuesday that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will set up a foundation for welfare of disabled, orphans and widows to take full advantage of their potential.
Addressing a function in connection with World Disability Day at Nishtar Hall, he said that KP government would extend full support to orphans, windows and persons with disabilities and will make them useful citizens of the society.
He said that 80,000 people, including persons with disability, orphans and widows required financial help and assistance in the province.
In the first year, he said, support would be provided to 26,000 such persons while 40,000 would be benefited in second year while the remaining 14,000 would be facilitated in the third year.
Khan said the PTI was striving hard to provide support to the poor segments of the society, saying that his party was struggling for such a system where every person get dignified jobs, employment, education and health facilities.
“People would see positive change almost in every sector after every month, he said, adding that zero tolerance has been adopted against corruption and strict action would be taken against corrupt officials.
Khan said an independent accountability institution was being formed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to ensure a transparent and well-developed system and to eliminate corruption and would be a role model for other provinces. He said the KP local govt system would be an exemplary and a role model.
He said the PTI believed in good governance and transparency and political interference in Police Department and civil bureaucracy have strongly been discouraged. Leaders and workers of PTI in large number attended the function.
