Fire Safety Convention to be held on Dec 17

Karachi Commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui on Tuesday called for the need to create fire safety awareness to avoid losses of human lives in industries, factories, shopping plazas and marketplaces.

He was addressing a delegation from the National Forum for Environment and Health (NFEH), and Fire Protection Association of Pakistan (FPAP), in his office, said a statement on Tuesday.

He called upon the industrialists, builders and corporate sector in particular, and the citizens of Karachi in general to join hands to avert fire incidents in the future.

He stressed the need for increased awareness regarding fire protection, and the training of employees, citizens, housewives, and youth leaders, as per the acknowledged standards.

The agenda of the meeting between the commissioner and the NFEH delegation was the 4th Fire Safety Convention due to be held on December 17.

The NFEH delegation was represented by President Naeem Qureshi, FPAP Director Fawwad Barry and its other members.

The commissioner announced full support and cooperation for the event.

He will also be the guest of honor in the inaugural session of the event. The NFEH delegation expressed gratitude to the Karachi commissioner for his support.
