Law enforcers claimed to have arrested three target killer affiliated with city’s powerful political party, official said on Saturday.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Sultan Khawaja, while addressing a press conference at his office, disclosed the arrest of the target killers belonging to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
While speaking to reporters, Sultan Khawaja said that these arrested political activists of MQM have been arrested in connection with the murders of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Awami National Party (ANP) leaders and activists.
DIG said MQM’s Kashif, Nafees and Kamran Langra were arrested during a raid, however, two other suspects fled the scene.
Disclosing details, he said, police and Rangers in a joint operation arrested the accused who were also involved in extortion. The DGP said that envelops with addresses of doctors were seized during the raid.
He said these letters were dispatched by courier companies to doctors for demanding extortion money.
