KP govt challenging federation by blocking NATO supplies: Shah

Opposition leader in National Assembly Khurshid Shah on Wednesday said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is challenging the federation by blocking NATO supply.
“The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf should stop its protest. Blocking supplies to NATO by the provincial government is tantamount to challenging the accord reached with federation. This way pressure will come to federation. The provincial government should not take such step. Provinces will also start blocking the entry of people of one another among them. This is not a good tradition for the country and national politics. Such moves embroil the country into problems. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has already bathed into blood. People of that province depend on transport and trade in terms of their livelihood. Therefore, blockade will ensure unemployment therein and the situation will take a dangerous turn,” he said this while talking to reporters.
He underlined that proceedings against former president Pervez Musharraf should be initiated from October 12, 1999 under Article 6 of the constitution. If the then Supreme Court was involved therein then it should also be made part of the proceedings under Article 6, he said.
The army was subordinate to the prime minister, he said, adding that the institution should follow its oath. Gen Kayani has played a positive role for strengthening democratic order in the country due to which transfer of power occurred in the best way, he observed. In the past this sword continued to hang, he added.
