The Sindh High Court on Tuesday ordered the Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) to ensure uninterrupted power supply to pumping stations of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB).
During the hearing, the court also ordered KWSB to pay Rs70 million to the KESC out of the total outstanding dues within a week.
KWSB MD Qutab Sheikh and his lawyer advocate Ibrar Hassan and KESC lawyer Abid Zubairi were present before the court in the case.
The order came after a standoff between the two utilities led to severe water supply disruptions across the city.
KESC had introduced loadshedding at pumping stations of KWSB after the water utility failed to pay electricity bills owed to the power utility.
