Pak-Iran gas pipeline to end energy crisis, says Watoo

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Punjab President Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo has said that early completion of Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline project can end energy crisis across the country and help the domestic, commercial and industrial consumers to get rid of the prevailing situation.
In a statement issued on Monday, Wattoo said that gas pipeline project with Iran is very important in the ongoing circumstances and benefit the country and people more than their expectations. He said that historical agreements signed with Iran during PPP government reveals the party’s commitment and sincerity that it never accepted external pressure over the issues of national interests.
The PPP leader said that it was also a golden opportunity for the sitting government to enhance its credibility and popularity among the masses by resolving the core issue of energy crisis faced by people by ensuring early completion of the said project.
Wattoo said that Iran has reached an agreement with the west over its nuclear programme and ban was being lifted for six months for the purpose during which Pakistan can take the advantage.
