The farmers hailing from different areas of Nawabshah district held a protest demonstration against the stoppage of water in canal by an influential landlord.
Hundreds of farmers staged protest by blocking the road and chanted slogans against the administration, irrigation department and provincial government.
They said that an influential landlord has stopped the water in Dhoro Naro branch canal which has destroyed their cultivated crops.
The protesting farmers blamed that administration and irrigation department officials were also involved in the crime, as despite repeated applications no action has been taken so far.
The farmers warned of committing mass suicide outside Nawabshah Press Club if water in Dhoro Naro branch canal was not restored immediately.
