The Association of Diabetes Prevention and Control issued an annual report that identified diabesity as the number one cause of obesity, heart disease, cancer, dementia and type two diabetes.

The report claims that a course correction at pre-diabetic stage is urgently needed to avoid diabetes, with implications ranging from obesity and chronic fatigue up-to blindness and even amputation.

The report enumerated cooking, eating and exercising as actions that can protect the cell health of the person concerned against the debilitating disease.

According to the report, the ailment has already reached its epidemic levels as 25 million people are diagnosed, another seven million are unaware that they have the disease, and an estimated 79 million who will get the disease if they do not make correct choices about their lifestyle. With this rate, diabesity is making people fat, sick and eventually kill them, yet 90 percent who die will remain unaware about their disease.

“What is worse is that many of the doctors are not trained to find it, and most do not even look for it,” said the compilers of the report.

Under the given situation people have been strongly advised to equally focus towards their food consumption pattern as diet, in vast majority of cases, is one of the key contributors for diabetes.

Diet, exercise and lifestyle are nearly universally acknowledged as vital components required for managing blood glucose levels and the key to avert associated risks of diabetes itself.
