United States Consul General in Karachi Micheal Dodman on Saturday expressed support for entrepreneurship everywhere.

He was talking to newsmen after a moot organised by the National Entrepreneurship Working Group (NEW-G).

The event was organised in collaboration with the United States Consulate General in Karachi.

Micheal Dodman said that the NEW-G is the launch of a new organisation that is going to promote entrepreneurship in Pakistan.

He stated that the NEW-G is a Pakistani group which is here to promote entrepreneurship, innovation, small businesses and that there is a space in Pakistan for the small businesses to grow, thrive and be successful.

“We support entrepreneurship all around the world and we think it is great to have a partner like the NEW-G that is really active here in Pakistan and we can hopefully work to promote entrepreneurism as well as economic growth in Pakistan”, Micheal Dodman remarked.

He said that the US Consulate hosted this moot and assisted the NEW-G in its launch. “We will be partners in areas where we have common interest.”

The US consul general said that it is important that the women have more opportunities for business and that the Consulate focus on the training programmes for women.

He stated that there is also a US-Pakistan Women Council which is a new group that was set up last year which focuses on improving the opportunities for women for businesses in Pakistan- entrepreneurship, education etc.

NEW-G President Rizwan Rizvi said that his organisation intends to foster a movement to promote entrepreneurship in Pakistan.

He said that his organisation would be relying on the Pakistani organisations to take the NEW-G forward because this is a Pakistani initiative.
