Massive load shedding feared

It has been reported in a section of national English press that 16-20 hours power outages are expected in another three months in December, January and February mainly because of negligible hydropower generation following canal closures and reduced outflow of water from existing dams, plus zero supply of gas for power generation plants.

As such it would be mission impossible to maintain eight hours of load shedding schedule in coming months. All of this sad news is due to our thermal policy of energy generation based on imported fuel which stands at 70 percent at present. The suicidal policies of our rulers that have scant regard for the miseries faced by the masses in the face of rising energy cost and load shedding as a result of the deaf and dumb attitude of our rulers to the public voice that clamours for building a mega hydro-electric dam like Kalabagh dam.

The ruination of our economy due to self-destructive policies of our so-called democratic rulers has become a vice around our necks that cannot be removed short of our death. The democratic order has not delivered a single mega dam in the past four decades that looks like a tombstone of our democracy.
