Former president Pervez Musharraf on Thursday met his legal team at his farmhouse to discuss treason case against him.
According to sources, Sharifuddin Pirzada and Ibrahim Satti called on the former general and discussed formation of special court and treason case.
They would submit their power of attorney in the court to proceed the case. Musharraf and his legal team have decided to challenge the constitution of the special court.
Sources said the former army chief has directed his legal team to prepare an application which is likely to be filed in the Supreme Court on Friday (today).
Advocate-on-record Zafar Abbas Naqvi has been hired to represent the former president in the court, sources said.
The government has formed a three-member special court to try the former president under Article 6 of the constitution.
Justice Faisal Arab, Justice Tahira Safdar and Justice Yawar Ali have been named for the court.
The former president seized power in a coup in 1999 and ruled for almost a decade until he was forced to step down in 2008.
