Provincial capital, Karachi was blanketed with shallow patches of fog on Thursday that resulted in triggered road accidents and injuring five people.
Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) said that the fog covered Shahrah-e-Faisal, Airport, Malir, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Landhi, Korangi and other areas.
The dense fog minimised visibility on Shahrah-e-Faisal, one of the major thoroughfares in Karachi, and triggering traffic mess on the road.
At least five people were reported injured in fog-related mishaps across Karachi as fog turned many of the roads slippery and dangerous for motor cyclists.
Rescue officials said, two motorcyclists were injured when their vehicles slipped in SteelTown. Two passenger busses collided in Korangi’s Bilawal Chowrangi, injuring three people.
The fog, however, did not affect flight operations in Karachi, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) spokesman said.
