At least three people were killed and 18 other were left wounded in a powerful bomb blast on Thursday near the Custom House at the Torkham border crossing in Pakistan’s tribal area of Khyber Agency.

According to officials, a blast occurred near the Custom House where vehicles were being checked at a border crossing between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The Torkham crossing serves as a passageway for Nato supplies and Afghan transit goods into the war-torn neighboring country.

Security forces cordoned off the whole area while the wounded were shifted to nearby hospitals.

The officials have started an investigation to discover the nature of the blast. Sources suggested that it could be a suicide blast.

Taliban has increased attacks on security forces in the recent days as they had threatened to carry out terror attacks to avenge the death of Hakimullah Mehsud who was killed in US drone strike early this month.
