At least three soldiers were martyred in a suicide car blast at a security check post in North Waziristan Agency on Wednesday.
Officials said the attack was carried out in the Showa Tehsil of North Waziristan’s tribal region where a suicide bomber rammed his explosive-laden vehicle into a security check post, some 20 kilometers from Mirali Bazaar.
At least three soldiers were martyred in the early morning attack and six others were left injured. They injured individuals were shifted to CMH in Bannu.
Security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to hunt down the insurgents; however, no arrest has been made so far.
Ansar ul Mujahideen has accepted responsibility for the attack. Spokesman of the outfit Abu Basir said that the attack was a form of revenge for the killing of Hakim ullah Mahsud.
