Banned terrorist party Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) issued a threat for initiating destructive attacks on governmental and security departments in coming week in order to avenge the death of their chief Hakimullah Mehsud.
Speaking to a local news channel, TTP spokesperson Shahidullah Shahid, claimed the responsibility for the attack on the security forces in the Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province and termed it as the first episode of the upcoming onslaught.
Terrorists had attacked police van in Bannu which left 2 cops dead and several others wounded last week.
Shahid said, ‘It was the first attack and we will teach a lesson to the Pakistani government on assisting US authorities.’
The spokesperson added that suicide bombers has been sent to different parts of the country with high-profile tasks who will target prominent governmental and military personalities including the leaders of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Awami National Party (ANP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), local media reports said.
On the other hand, intelligence agencies also warned the high-level governmental circle regarding militants’ attack on the leaders of country’s ruling party, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), as well as NATO supply, Americans and Chinese citizens.
The Interior Ministry of Punjab issued detailed report revealing that the newly appointed chief of the militants’ organisation bids large-scale attacks overall in the country but especially in Punjab.
