No award for the deserving

Many people in Pakistan and around the world have done great work for the sake of humanity. They do not even ask for some kind of recognition. I have been a passionate supporter of Malala Yousafzai all along but after watching the series of awards given to her, I am finally forced to say that it is enough. If the West is so eager to showering awards on her then it should also acknowledge the great work done by a another Pakistani like Abdul Sattar Edhi. They should give him the Nobel Prize award as he truly deserves it. He runs the world’s largest volunteer ambulance service and is credited with saving thousands of lives through his efforts and determination.

The Edhi foundation has rescued over 20,000 abandoned infants, rehabilitated over 50,000 orphans and has trained over 40,000 nurses. It also runs over 350 welfare centres in rural and urban Pakistan which work as soup kitchens, rehabilitation centres, shelter for abandoned children, women, and clinics for the handicapped. The people of Pakistan are indebted to him for his commitment to the social welfare of Pakistanis and share in his vision for a bright future of our country. He is the one who truly deserves this award.

  1. I think Malala deserved all the accolades andawards. She has made great contribution towards peace, and education. She has been given these medals by the western organization on the basis of merit. She did not ask for these medals.

As far A Sattar Edhi is concerned our government should confer awards upon him. The West has recognized him. we have no problem with any award given to him.
