Punjab Assembly’s opposition leader Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed on Sunday said that the provincial government got least time to prepare for local bodies elections and if the courts had extended the time it would have been better to make arrangements in a better way.
He was talking to media persons after a reception hoisted in the honour of the party leaders where he said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will contest the local bodies’ elections with full commitment and will not leave the ground vacant for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). He blamed that the provincial government was granting funds to its members which were being used for pre-poll rigging.
The opposition leader in PA demanded the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to take notice of the rigging plans.
Rasheed said that the PML-N led federal government is following the agenda and directives of International Monetary Fund (IMF). The inflation witnessed during five months of the sitting government is more than the five year inflation of the previous government, he added.
He claimed that after the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), its rival party PML-N was also heading towards decline and both will meet their fate soon.
